Data protection is a high priority for Aimer Media Ltd. We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our website and apps. In particular, we want you to know that we do not share, sell, rent or trade personal information with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. In this Privacy Policy, we provide detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it and how we keep it secure.

The processing of personal data, such as the name, address, e-mail address, or telephone number of a data subject shall always be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and in accordance with the country-specific data protection regulations applicable to Aimer Media Ltd.

Apps aimed at children contain parental control procedures to ensure children cannot access outside content from the app.

Types of data we collect

1. Cookies
A cookie is a small text file containing information that a web site transfers to your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes and allows us to analyse our site traffic patterns. A cookie cannot give us access to your computer or to information beyond what you provide us. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies; consult your browser’s manual or online help if you want information on restricting or disabling the browser’s handling of cookies. If you disable cookies, you can still view the publicly available information on our web site. If you are using a shared computer and you have cookies turned on, be sure to log off when you finish.

2. Google Analytics
When someone visits our website we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

3. Mailing Lists
As part of the registration process for our e-newsletters, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about apps and products you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer.

4. App data
We do not collect any personally identifiable information about the users of our apps. On some apps we use a third party to collect anonymous usage statistics to help us improve our apps, this anonymous data includes
– What device you are using and which version of the operating system.
– Crash reports, telling us where in the app it crashed and what the problem might be.
– How long the app was used for, how many times it has been opened.
– The most and least used areas of an app so that we can improve functionality

Any notes, bookmarks, photos, videos or voice recordings added within apps are only stored on the device they originated in or the cloud storage associated with the device.

5. Apps with account logins
Some apps we develop require you to login with an account to use the services contained within the app. All of this user account information is controlled by some of our partner publishers.

Class Publishing publish iCPG, JRCALC CPD, JRCLAC PLUS apps, which require users to use or create an account in these apps. You can read their Privacy Policy here.

6. In-app purchases
When purchasing an in-app subscription this information is stored with the App Store company, either Apple, Google or Amazon. If you opt to share your name, email address and postal/zip code when you purchase a subscription via iTunes then this information can be shared by Apple with the publisher of the relevant title. This data is not shared with other organisations without your permission.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer, or fill out this form.

Privacy Policy changes

We reserve our right to make any changes and updates to the privacy policy without giving you notice as and when we need to. We’ll always make sure that the most up to date privacy policy is posted on our website, though, so you can check it out whenever you like.
