Swipe to Donate Life Privacy Policy

Our product, Swipe to Donate Life, is a mobile app for registering organ donors with state and national donor registries. Countermind recognizes that organ donor information is private and has designed the Swipe to Donate Life mobile app to protect that information.

The Swipe to Donate Life mobile app communicates only with state and national registries to authenticate the user (when applicable) and to register a donor. All communications between the mobile app and the registry are encrypted using HTTPS. The Swipe to Donate Life mobile app does not at any time communicate with Countermind. Any donor information on the mobile device is immediately deleted from the mobile device after the mobile app receives a response from the registry indicating that the information was processed. In cases where connectivity between the mobile device and the registry is interrupted, a donor's information may be temporarily stored in an encrypted file on the mobile device. That file will be deleted once communication is restored and its contents have been processed by the registry. Although Swipe to Donate Life uses the built in camera to read the barcode on a license or ID card, no image of the license or ID card is captured at any time.
