Plants vs. Zombies 2 collects the following information:

  • Information you give us directly, such as your email address and/or date of birth to the extent applicable;
  • Information about your mobile device, such as unique identifier, type of mobile device, and mobile application version;
  • For those who choose to log into Facebook, this app collects your public profile and friends list;
  • Information about your feature usage, such as game state, the date and time of your activity in the game, game metrics and statistics, and other similar information; and
  • Analytics and crash data.

 

We use this information:

  • To provide the best gaming experience possible;
  • To manage our mobile application, diagnose technical problems, improve content and allocate the resources of our systems so that your experience with our mobile application is as efficient as possible;
  • To allow you to login to your Facebook account, powering social functionality within the application;
  • To audit compliance with our policies and contractual obligations;
  • To personalize the service we provide to you, which may include communicating with you and tailoring your experience with EA to your interests;
  • As permitted by, and to comply with, any legal or regulatory requirements or provisions;
  • To effect a corporate transaction in connection with the sale, merger, spin-off or other corporate reorganization of our corporation, where the information is provided to the new controlling entity in the regular course of business; or
  • For any other purpose to which you consent.

 

We will retain the collected information for as long as you interact with this mobile application, as needed to provide you services and reasonably operate and support EA’s business, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

 

Why we need certain Application Permissions:

Plants vs. Zombies 2 may request certain types of in-game permissions.  We may require these permissions for the following reasons:

 

In-app purchases:  To enable in-app purchases.

Identity:  To support game services, and to send push notifications for those who request them and are of appropriate age to receive them.

Photos/Media/Files:  For storing game data on the device.

Wi-Fi connection information:  To download files from the internet, and to communicate connection state to players.

Full Network Access: To effectuate network functionality of the game, and to serve ads.

Google Play license check: To authenticate the game on Google Play.

Prevent phone from sleeping: To prevent the closing of the application while DLC is downloaded.

Control vibration: To address a bug in Android 4.2 related to push notifications.

View Network Connections: To warn you when your phone is using cellular data to download content, as this may result in additional data charges with your carrier.

We do not sell your data, nor do we share your personal information with third parties not acting on EA’s behalf without your consent.

EA uses its own proprietary analytic metrics tool and other third-party analytics technologies to collect information when you play this application on your mobile device.  These tools collect and analyze certain types of information, including mobile device ID or other device identifiers, platform type, and other information about the application including game state and the date and time of activity on the game, information about how your game is used, including game metrics and statistics, and other similar information.  EA uses this information for the purposes described in “Collection and Use” above.

The third-party analytics companies who collect anonymous information through our mobile application may combine this information with other information they have independently collected.
