Crew Platform Privacy Notice

Crew is a messaging and scheduling platform designed for communication and coordination across an organization (a “Customer Organization” or “Employer”).  This Privacy Notice describes how Speramus, Inc., the creator of Crew, and our affiliates (collectively, “Crew,” “we,” and “us”) collect, use, disclose, transfer, store, retain or otherwise process your information when you (whether you are a person acting as a sole proprietor, on behalf of a “Customer Organization,” or as an employee, contractor and worker (“Employee”)) apply or sign up for a Crew Enterprise Administrator account and other services through the Crew app and the website crewapp.com (collectively, the “Crew Platform”). 

Employers

An enterprise administrator for a Customer Organization, including any designee(s) (the “Enterprise Administrator” or “you”), is responsible for determining which employees, contractors, and workers (“Employees”) will have access to the Crew Platform.   

Privacy laws that apply in certain places, like California and the European Union, treat “businesses/controllers” and “service providers/processors” differently. Under those laws, a business/controller is the company that decides why and how to process personal information. Crew is the business/controller with respect to the personal information collected and processed relating to Enterprise Administrators. This Privacy Notice for Enterprise Administrators (this “Privacy Notice”) governs our collection and processing of the personal information of Enterprise Administrators who register and use the Crew Platform.  Please read this Privacy Notice carefully. By continuing to interact with our Crew Platform, you agree to our Employer Terms of Service and are consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

Employees 

Privacy laws that apply in certain places, like California and the European Economic Area, treat “businesses/controllers” and “service providers/processors” differently. Under those laws, a business/controller is the company that decides why and how to process personal information. Crew is the service provider/processor with respect to the personal information collected and processed relating to our Clients’ Employees.  Your Customer Organization/Employer is the business/controller.This Privacy Notice does not apply to any of the Personal Information that we may collect and process on behalf of your Employer.  Any questions or requests relating to Employee personal information should be directed to your Employer.

Cookie Policy

We collect data from cookies and other technologies like pixel tags, web beacons, or other identifiers to improve the functionality and security of the Platform. Do-Not-Track Signals

Some web browsers send “Do-Not-Track” (DNT) signals to websites, based on user settings within those browsers. Our Platform does not currently respond to DNT signals due to the lack of industry-wide DNT standards. Crew takes privacy seriously and will review this policy once standardized DNT technology is made available.

Data Retention Policy

We store the personal information we collect as described in this Privacy Notice for as long as you use our services, while your account is active or as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected, provide our services, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws.  The personal information associated with an account that has not been accessed for six months will be considered inactive and deleted.

How to Access or Delete Your Information

You own your data. If you need to access or delete personal information stored on our servers, please send us a message at  [email protected]  describing your request. Identity verification may be required for security purposes. While some anonymized or aggregated information may not be available, we will review and respond to access or deletion requests as required by law.

Security

While no service is completely secure, Crew implements administrative, technical or physical security safeguards and controls, including TLS and device-based encryption or other similar controls where available. In the event of a breach, we will notify affected users as required by law.  We take steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Notice. Unfortunately, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us. We have taken appropriate safeguards to require that your personal information will remain protected and require our third-party service providers and partners to have appropriate safeguards as well. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we do not accept liability for unauthorized disclosure.

Is Crew for Children?

The Crew Platform is designed for professional communication in a workplace environment. Crew does not target children under the age of 13 (or other age for children under applicable law). If you are concerned Crew may have unknowingly collected information of your child, please contact  [email protected]  and we will remove the data upon verification.

Material Changes

We strongly believe clear, sensible policies are a matter of trust between ourselves and our users. Crew will notify our users of material changes as required by applicable law. If you have any questions regarding the policy changes, please contact us at  [email protected]. Continued use of the Crew Platform after the changes go into effect constitutes consent to the changes.

International Data Transfers

All information processed by us may be transferred, processed, and stored anywhere in the world, including, but not limited to, the United States or other countries, which may have data protection laws that are different from the laws where you live. We endeavor to safeguard your information consistent with the requirements of applicable laws.
