Scribblify for Android does not require an Internet connection to operate at a basic functional level. Scribblify does not transmit any user data to its own servers. Scribblify does not directly collect or use any personally identifying information. When an Internet connection is available, the application (including current and/or future versions) will use the connection for the following uses:
As a user convenience, Scribblify includes the optional ability to export artwork to other third party applications and services. The use of this functionality is handled through Google Intents. The only data transmitted between Scribblify and an outside app (except as described in the previous section) is the currently selected artwork and only at the user's explicit request. Once the artwork (JPG or PNG image) has been exported to the desired external app, that app assumes control of it. The types of supported third party apps varies depending on what applications the user has installed on their device. Examples include:
All of the social sharing capabilities are handled through the respective third party apps and frameworks, separate from linkedPIXEL LLC and the core Scribblify application. None of the social sharing information is read by nor transmitted to linkedPIXEL LLC. Users must explicitly select the desired share option before any media created with Scribblify will be transmitted externally, and the sharing options must be triggered manually every time the user wishes to make a share. If no social sharing features are activated by the user, no user-generated content will be transmitted outside of the user's local device.
Along with the optional social sharing capabilities, Scribblify requires access to the read and write from the device's local memory card and photo library for saving artwork and for importing external images. All images saved from Scribblify will be placed in a 'Scribblify' directory at the root of the internal or external memory card.
When importing an existing image, the user will be able to select from any publically accessible photo library locations and photo browsers. No media is transmitted outside of the device except when explicitly instructed to do so as described in the previous section.
All artwork created in Scribblify is owned by the artist; linkedPIXEL LLC claims no rights over any user-generated artwork from the app. If the user opts to share the artwork on social networks, the privacy policy and terms of use for those particular services will take affect. From time-to-time, linkedPIXEL LLC may solicit permission to use particular artwork in promotional materials if it has been posted publically to social network sites and marked with the Scribblify keyword.
